I can't believe it took me so long to get around to checking out this title.

The detectives have a lot of personality, and it's interesting to see how they deal with super villains without powers (not very well at times).

This is as engaging as the best cop dramas -- frBeen planning to read this series straight through, starting with the couple of volumes I already had read.

i liked seeing batman on the outside.

It focuses on the "common" officers of the Gotham City Police Department, living and working as they are in the shadow of the Batman. So when I jumped back into the fray, Batman was what I looked into at first. And Renee Montoya is probably the best character in the whole DCU, to be honest.This is a very good book, as one would of course expect from Brubaker and Rucka. ThThis is a very good book, as one would of course expect from Brubaker and Rucka. I've read this before but failed to log it on Goodreads, but honestly, this was such a genius idea to have a look at what it's like to be a cop in a town as messed up as Gotham.

Story wise its a little dry, not super exciting, but overall not bad. Some of the line work would be weak which would contrast with later pages were it was much sharper and more detailed.
