The story is engaging, and the writer offers a lot of detail on why Thawne behaves the way he does.In a way I'm glad Eobard Thawne is so keen on knowing all the ins and outs of The Flash's histories, because it's books like these that make me less and less keen to do the same.

The Flash Vol. The Flash Vol. The collection builds upon previous arcs and teases future ones. Finally, Allen is about to tell Iris the truth of who he is and Reverse Flash shows up to cause havoc.

The aftermath of “THE BUTTON” has left Barry Allen—the Fastest Man Alive, known as the Flash—at a crossroads. He kidnaps Iris and takes her to the future where we get a new origin for Thawne. Parts of it--namely how Eobard Thawne survived when he was reduced to practically a skeleton, some of the time travel stuff, and the negative speed force (particularly how Barry was able to get out of it and then shake it off so quickly)--were a bit confusing, but they didn't really detract from the overall story.

We get Barry being very introverted and concerned about the recent return of the Reverse Flash, and his fears are realized a few issues later when Thawne reappears to threaten Iris. I'm glad that Iris FINALLY knows that Barry is the Flash, though it was a real punch in the gut that he didn't get to tell her himself, that he was unmasked by Reverse Flash. 4 I found myself lost in the story here.
