There is a clear structure to the book. The plot is funny and interesting and keeps you guessing right up to the last page. My favorite aspect of this book is really in the narrative and the way that Swarup shows off his prowess in writing. As with his previous novel the feel of India permeates this novel. Loved the interconnection of the characters all from different walks of life. I really enjoyed both Q&A and The Accidental Apprentice. He is an ordinary character whom I will never think will involve in this madness is the killer.

(This is my pb edition, the Goodreads blurb has been altered as well you might hope. Great book . I laughed a lot. The BBC recorded this mystery in Bombay and the accents prove taxing.

But overall, a good read and I look forward to more by this author.Good, but not quite as good as his first book, Q & A.

He does not sugar-coat the class, caste and racist undertones, makes no excuses, and no judgement...so the story does not get preNice romp that explores life in India but in a lighthearted manner that does not detract from the story. The whodunnit part is weak.
