Maltin is a nice guy, but this is not a real class.An interesting class that I really enjoyed. To begin with, a lot more detailed information about each movie is provided. My recommendation, go pass/fail.Maltin is a really great man and professor however his TA's are what ruin the class. Tough to get a good grade without reading and putting in effort.Highly recommend taking his class. If you have a great memory or write every single word said, you will easily get an A. Once deleted, we can't bring it back. If you have this book together with Maltin's "Classic Movie Guide" (which supplements it with older films, such as those shown on Turner Classic Movies & Fox Movie Channel), you have all you need to decide whether to watch, tape or buy a film. It is like having a mini movie encyclopedia on hand. Plus, exams are graded unfairly because of lack of standard among TAs.This is a no no! Only two big movies are shown throughout the semester. Leonard Maltin. The tests and essays are created by the TAs and unfortunately, most of them don't seem to pay attention to the lectures so the tests are often based on a single sentence said in the four hour lecture or picked randomly from the text. I don't even think the professor writes the questions, just the TAs.
