Perhaps not timeless or a classic, but well-done drama that still provides a thoroughly entertaining program.Most contemporary despite its age. I expect it will hold up today, thirty-eight years after production. Susan is impatient as she waits for Brian and decides to go home where she unexpectedly runs into her husband. This series manages to capture the feeling of war time London in a way that few films or televisions series have managed since this was released.

I remeber enjoying it imensely when it first aired in the US on PBS' Masterpiece Theater. Sergeant James is able to bring up Brian’s spirits and they find a foreboding note while dismantling a bomb. A wonderful series. NR. Terrific acting, directing, costuming, writing, etc.
