Not a DC fan overall but love a good story.

First of all I'll start off with the positive: the art is good, the panels are laid out well and action generally flows well, the artist does successfully manage to pull off a lot of the absurdities in Denny O'Neil's script without making the scenes laughable (no such luck with the dialogue) and the colouring is nice especially considering how much mediocre colouring was going on in this early nineties period.I've heard how notoriously bad this was but I wasn't expecting THIS bad. The rest of the series involves Batman tracking down and stopping a pair of uninteresting villains in typical Batman I've seen others mention that this books starts off really well, but drops off towards the end, and that's completely true.

That was exactly my experience with this book. He isn’t the worst Batman writer I’ve read but he’s definitely down there as one of the worst and “Batman: Venom” is a disaster. | Batman Venom OOP First Print Rare TPB/Graphic Novel Dennis O'Neil DC Comics 1993DC Comics Watchmen TPB 1987 1st Edition 3rd Print Alan Moore Gibbons graphicTHE LOSERS: ANTE UP VOL 1 TPB GRAPHIC NOVEL COMIC (2004 DC/VERTIGO) 1ST PRINT VFStar Wars: General Grievous - RARE OOP 2005 Dark Horse Comics Graphic Novel TPBBooster Gold: Blue and Gold By Geoff Johns, Jeff Katz TPB graphic novel DC ComicWorld of Warcraft Vol 3 by Louise Simonson 2011, TPB DC Comics Blizzard OOPBatman Harvest Breede HC DC 2000 Hardcover Graphic Novel George PrattBATMAN ARKHAM ASYLUM 15th Anniversary GRAPHIC NOVEL 2005 DC Comics Paperback TPBBatman Begins by O'Neil, Dennis (Mass Market Paperback)Batman by Neal Adams 3, Paperback by O'Neil, Dennis; Adams, Neal (ART); Wein,...Marvel Comics Wolverine Origins Seven the Hard Way Graphic Novel TPB #41-45 FP20Batman: Joker's Asylum, DC Graphic Novel TPB (2008, Paperback) (OOP/Rare)Batman Road to No Man's Land 2, Paperback by O'Neil, Dennis; Puckett, Kelley;...DC Comics Watchmen TPB 1987 1st Edition 3rd Print Alan Moore Gibbons graphicWatchmen, Deluxe Edition - Hardcover By Alan Moore - VERY GOODBatman: Venom - Paperback By O'Neil, Dennis J. It was weird reading a Batman story about this, but it's started through Batman not being strong enough to lift a boulder and save a drowning child.

Dennis "Denny" O'Neil is a comic book writer and editor, principally for Marvel Comics and DC Comics in the 1970s. It's a really good dark, psychological thriller. Came in much quicker than anticipated, the artwork is great and so is the story! Batman: Haunted Knight New Edition (Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight) I think it fits more of a Punisher tone than a Batman tone.A painful reminder of how bad comic writing and art used to be. Have you ever been super excited to read something?

Batman: A Death in the Family (Batman (1940-2011))

I have no problem with a dark story where a rookie Batman makes mistakes but this was poorly written. Batman is a drug addict in this story, which makes sense, for any people put off by this concept. After trying to right the wrong he feels powerless and turns to putting an unknown substance in his body.

The first two issues of Venom are great, a look at the worst aspects of Batman's obsession with fighting crime and his willingness to do whatever it takes to save lives. Felt to me like a silverage type story with very one dimensional cardboard characters . Start by marking “Batman: Venom” as Want to Read: No missing pages.

But that's all in the first two issues. Defending the city is a tough job, and luckily Batman (aka Bruce Wayne) has companions to help him, including Robin, Nightwing, and the mischievous Catwoman. This prelude to "Knightfall" is a compelling read and one of the best of the many Batman trade paperbacks. Plus, you'd probably die before you read every issue featuring the Dark Knight published since his 1939 debut. Must read!! And he fights a freaking shark!!! This story features Batman early in his crime fighting career and also at his absolute lowest.
