You’re not in the mood? Like you’d think an episode focusing on the two of them would be amazing, but it’s just…not. George’s horrible zinger of “that’s gotta hurt” that he fumbles with in the theatre? Here’s a list of the 10 most underrated TV shows of the decade — many of which were also under-seen — with a second 10 for good measure. Jul 16, 2014 - There is no real-life situation that can’t somehow be compared to Seinfeld, no gripe too vain, no scenario too obscure. Also, Bernie Williams and Derek Jeter make a cameo in what is another great Yankees bit on Seinfeld. To me, this is the first episode of the series that makes you go “wow, this is brilliant.” It’s easily one of the most memorable episodes of the show’s run just because of the ‘bottle episode’ aspect of it being all in one place and in a situation we’ve all been in.
There’s also the topic of circumcised vs. uncircumcised which the group finds a way to talk about without actually saying the word, much like the word ‘masturbation’ in The Contest. However, this episode will always be remembered for Kramer drinking the beer while smoking a cigarette.
Anyway, the image of Newman double dating with Son of Sam got me, while George saying “I would’ve marched in Selma if it was on Long Island” made me pause the video because I love that line so much.
We also see Buck Showalter, who will later be fired on Seinfeld…The Old Man is one of those episodes that seems like it’d be good upon re-watch, but then I can’t get into it. I wouldn’t have done this without you. George also lists jobs he’d like to get (I like sports, I could do something in sports).
Also, Kramer’s Anytown, USA doesn’t really make sense to me.
I really like how they brought back Lloyd Bridges, because I think anything with him in it that’s supposed to be a comedy is fantastic. I mean the idea isn’t bad and I feel like this could’ve worked for another show or maybe Larry David could have made it work, but it just doesn’t seem right. Kramer trying to be silent is all right, but could have been done better, kind of like him in the skinny jeans.
Nothing too special.Mandelbaum! And like those shows, Battlestar Galactica had sci-fi signifiers that made it impossible to take seriously: cringeworthy cod-philosophical dialogue, acting that flits between stilted and hammy, and an overwhelming sense of self-importance, as if we should be treating a series about sleeper robots infiltrating a spaceship like a Ken Loach film. Uncle Leo gets a free watch and a wallet with $400 in it in this episode and the Wallet, which begs the question – who the hell keeps $400 in a wallet? It’s also the episode where George names the best toilet in the city when given an address. The final episode before the finale — let me put it plainly — sucks. Who is this Conrad character and why the hell does he agree to make a home out of George’s desk? Jerry naming foods in his kitchen as potential baby names is the best part of the episode (and ketchup We’re never told why Kramer loves Bette Midler so much, but it doesn’t matter because it’s just plain old funny. This is one of the high notes of Season 9 and it isn’t even that great of an episode. These are the plot devices of a daytime show; all that’s missing is amnesia and evil twins.Downton Abbey was a great spectacle, but it never had the depth to be anything more than posh filler.
Here’s a standup’s single semi-insight-cum-joke-type-thing stretched thinner than bubblegum across 22 minutes. Easily one of the best ‘random’ lines of the series. But when he gets hit by writers block, he enlists George's help, and he suggests that they create a This episode also marks the beginning of a recurring story about "Crazy" Joe Davola's obsession with the Elain Benis. Some may find this episode a little low considering it gave us Festivus, but I feel as though it’s more a nostalgia factor than anything that makes this episode stand out. It’s the cream of the crop.
No one can put a “statue of limitations” on my love for this episode.BEST MOMENT: George screaming Elaine’s I.Q. George with the sundae all over his face, the discussion of who gets to go to a party (the breaker-upper or the breakee), Kramer being a ball boy and crashing into Monica Seles on her return from being stabbed, etc. I wasted six years on conspiracy theories.
