Overall a fun little romp with some good special features on the DVD. The supportive characters are actually more convincing than the main ones. but on the other hand, Quentin Tarantino (who re-released it in '97 through Rolling Thunder Pictures) was right when he said in USA Today `There's more action is Sisters than in Twister…' The film is fast-paced, full of thrills (gotta love those low-budget, campy 70s films where everyone loses their shirt eventually...) and most of all, fun! "The Jezebels" is also known as "Switchblade Sisters". A tough gang of teenage girls are looking for love and fighting for turf on the mean streets of the city! This…Buzzfeed once published a list of all the movies referenced in Gilmore Girls, which was great, but also not entirely…Movies about/starring women and girls of all ages. A scientist notices strange frequencies coming from within the Earth. It was directed by Jack Hill and stars Joanne Nail, Robbie Lee and Monica Gayle. The quality is what you'd expect from an exploitation film, but it's an enjoyable exploitation film.

5 out of 10 found this helpful. of course it's exploitative & trashy, but i can't think of any feminists who wouldn't want to join that girl gang so it all evens outI've been on a bit of an exploitation kick the past couple days and I was really eager to watch Switchblade Sisters just because I loved Spider Baby, the only movie I'd seen up until now by director Jack Hill, and wanted to watch another one of his movies. Enjoy!Rockstar Games, who created the 3D beat-em-up game based on The Warriors movie apparently considered making a ‘spiritual successor’ to the game according to Kotaku.

The Dagger Debs, tough-talking high school broads with switchblade knives, benevolent snarls, attitude to spare, and propensity for violence, striking fear in the hearts of the citizens on the streets, are on equal footing with a the male Silver Daggers, a bossy, nasty brood whose harsh bullying ways leave the community they frequent cuckolded in a state of quivering angst. I vote for Patch to be the Jezebel's unhinged leader! And while I found a lot to enjoy in the movie, it doesn't come close in my mind to equaling some of Hill's other films like Spider Baby or the movies he made with Pam Grier. She, though, has fallen madly in love with him, and sets out with her girlfriend across Europe ... It's colourful entertainment that actually manages to be campy and serious in equal doses. The gang in this picture does not ever identify as "The Switchblade Sisters," though it does undergo an unimaginative rebranding to "The Jezebels" after they temporarily free themselves from the patriarchy. "You can beat us, chain us, lock us up. The rape scenes (people always talk about the rape "scene" in this but there are at least two and you could make a case for three) are never dwelled upon and really don't have much of an impact…An exploitation fusion - women-in-prison, street gangs, revenge thriller, a dash of blaxploitation - distilled into knife-fight fury and denim cool. It is a deceitfully trashy teenage-themed film with a subversive and serious political agenda, done in the cleverest manner and through an undeniable technical proficiency that helps to further elevate it.For starters, and in the end, Switchblade Sisters is a feminist movie.
