Everyone who takes freedom for granted would shutter to think that this story is true and was not that long ago as far as history is concerned and we have learned that history has a tendency of repeating itself. The book smelled a little funny when it arrived but was brand new so I'm guessing just musty from storage.
I realize now that I probably would not have wanted the full version, which might well reach 2000 pages or more. A reminder that life needn't be (and through most of human history, wasn't) so comfortable.
