Sometimes picture books miss the mark. It might be a good book for an older adult, but I doubt it's going to hold the interest of kids.Sometimes picture books miss the mark. I think then there’s one set perhaps in a Stanley Park in Vancouver, amongst the totem poles. Of course this writer would go on to write a novel called Surfacing. I found it well written, informative and entertaining. Many of the poems interested me, but I didn't feel that I could relate or understand. The poem "The Circle Game" itself is heavy with emotion, and it makes the reader feel.
There were also several that were about travelling west by train, across the prairies into the mountains. Mae Holland has landed a job at the Circle, “the most influential company in the world,” with help from her college friend Annie.
