This is a perfect example of that. Worst of all is that the movie is pretentious, although it has zero interesting ideas. It’s not just him.

This one tries to be cool, slick and witty. I sat down to this after reading the reviews (5.5 average) and thought maybe its just another romcom flam which will fill in the evening, it will be nothing much. In fact, this was pretty difficult to get through. I'm really glad i watched this!

2 out of 4 found this helpful. Scat (Fernandez) is fresh out of marketing school with no prospects on the horizon until he comes up with an idea for a new energy drink. What I have noticed is that the lower budget movies that I haven't heard of are 99% of the time better then the "studio" movies. Though we’re meant to root for him to hit it big, then for him to win over Six, Fernandez always seems half-asleep (that is, whenever he isn’t brushing strategically loose strands of hair out of his eyes with a frequency that should make Kristen Stewart blush).

His character angered me. It is nothing. Heard manages to overcome it all with sheer talent, and her galvanizing presence, but her character does her no favors. 6 out of 15 found this helpful.

In fact, as a member of the human race I was a bit insulted. A great performance from Amber Heard can't save Syrup from its half-baked, sluggish script and obnoxious complacency. His roommate somehow manages to steal his idea and take over a huge corporation in a matter of months (that's right, months) but doesn't speak, which just adds to the complete unbelievability of this film, as do many things. Scat thinks a lot of himself and makes sure to share his faux-brilliant views on business with the audience at multiple points throughout the film. Was this review helpful to you? Moreover as it not only has a great and enjoyable storyline filled with plenty of interesting and sometimes thrilling scenes but it goes to another level by having a kind of educational atmosphere and makes you think about the meaning of it all for days, at least in my case.

With Amber Heard, Shiloh Fernandez, Kellan Lutz, Brittany Snow. It is not smart, it is not funny, it is not tragic. I feel proud for watching this movie and I'm sure it wont be forgotten easily.
