Having experienced Tom Kitchen's tasting menu we could not believe what we were given as a dining experience. It has a super king size sleigh bed and a seating area with original fireplace. Very cold environment, tired decor, mediocre food from the tasting menu and slightly comical front of house service. Very ordinary old fashioned food instead of what should have been something that pushed boundaries. The chef, Tony Pierce, really does know what he's doing - serving delicious and highly-skilled dishes every night. Whopping bill of £158 for 2 people was eyewatering. Undercooked bread, ridiculously small portions even for a tasting menu, food presentation skills seemed largely absent.
