Y’all know I’m not good with musicals, but this was cute.I realized as a young adult that the Annie I grew up with, the songs of which I sang on a daily basis and lip-synced to in my grade school talent show, was really not that good a movie. Annie premiered on ABC November 7, 1999.
Except for 5.0 surround sound and the WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY trailer, there are no DVD extras, but this is the version to buy, above all others. The program was a smash during its initial airing, with an estimated 26.3 million viewers, making it the second-most watched Disney movie ever to air on ABC behind Cinderella (1997). Because this is some bad melodrama.

But that's okay because I had a great time making fun of it as I rewatched.This film could teach a class called “Bad Melodrama.” Why? With Kathy Bates, Victor Garber, Alan Cumming, Audra McDonald. It wad adorable.
